Privacy Policy

This explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect your name, email, delivery address, and order details. When you browse the site, we may collect basic analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type) via the analytics tool described below.

Why we collect it

We use this data to fulfil and ship your order, respond to support requests, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract for anything needed to take and deliver your order, your consent for marketing emails, and our legitimate interest in a working, well-understood website for basic analytics. We don't sell your data to third parties.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:

Payments are handled by Stripe — your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us or this website. Hosting and our database are provided by Vercel. Website analytics are provided by Vercel Web Analytics. Where an order ships from our China warehouse, the name and delivery address you give us are shared with that warehouse and the courier so they can deliver it.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies — one remembers the currency to show you, and one keeps the site owner signed in to the private admin area. Your basket is kept in your own browser's local storage, not sent to us as a cookie. For analytics we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookie-free — it doesn't store an identifier in your browser or track you across sites, so no cookie banner is needed.

How long we keep it

We keep order data for as long as needed for accounting purposes, then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, subject to any legal obligation to keep order records.

Marketing emails

If you sign up to our newsletter we store your email address and the date you consented, so we can show that you opted in. We only email you because you asked us to, and we never sell or share your address.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click stops them for good. You can also email hello@wristbuilt.co and we'll remove you. Unsubscribing doesn't stop emails about an order you've already placed — we still need to tell you when it ships.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@wristbuilt.co and we'll respond within one month, free of charge.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk — though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first. Wristbuilt is the data controller for the data described here.
